Massalé is a unique spice blend from the island of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean—a true symbol of Creole cuisine. Inspired by Indian curry spices, but with a unique character, Massalé combines the island's diverse influences: Indian, African, French, and Malagasy.

The mixture usually consists of coriander seeds, cumin, mustard seeds, turmeric, pepper, fenugreek, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon – carefully roasted and ground to develop an intense, warm aroma.
